Thailand is a paradise, an ideal place to chill, unwind, eat well, live well and enjoy yourself…
It’s no wonder it’s a top place of choice for retirement, or for mid-life crises, of just about any crises. It’s the land of smiles that hates confrontation and follows sabai sabai (chill chill is a possible translation). It’s affordable on an everyday basis if you need it to be cheap, but it also caters to a wide range of budgets, allowing you to go out and spoil yourself and not break the bank while still getting a top notch experience.
It ranges from giving you a feeling you’re in a time in the far past to a Blade Runner type experience in Bangkok. There’s cool malls, cool shopping, the widest range of diferent foods you can imagine, cool sights, Bangkok will get it’s own treatment elsewhere. But get out of Bangkok, anywhere around Bangkok and you can see fields to gorges, pine to jungle, rivers to beaches. Go further and there’s mountains, springs, and almost every type of habitat and beautiful view. Then there’s the Kohs, the islands, Koh Samed, Koh Si Chang, so near to Bangkok, or Koh Phangan, Koh Lanta, Koh Chang, a little further away.
Then there’s the sights, temples, Buddhas, Museums, Markets, Street Food, festivals, Cinemas, Game cafes, cafes and restaurants, hotels, skybars, bars and clubs and so much more! The Journeys you can take and the things you can do are endless, and it’s all so much more affordable than anywhere else in the world.
Yes, it has its problems, but Thailand, overall is a fantasy land full of kittens and puppies, sun and sea, smiles and fun! There are arguably as good, or better, or just different, places in South East Asia but Thailand just has something none of the others has, and it will always feel like home to us.
